Tokyo, August 2025
Kenyans in Japan Association (KIJA) is proud to announce a partnership with the Labor Mobility Program (LaMP), a U.S.-based NGO that facilitates employment opportunities by connecting workers from high-population countries with nations experiencing labor shortages, including Japan.
LaMP is running a labor mobility pilot program aimed at creating pathways for Kenyan job seekers to secure employment opportunities in Japan. To complement this initiative, KIJA will provide settlement and integration support to ensure that Kenyan workers arriving in Japan are well-prepared and supported throughout their transition.
In August 2025, KIJA conducted a pre-departure induction and orientation training for the first three participants of the program. The training focused on preparing workers for life in Japan, covering essential information to help them adjust smoothly and confidently.
Through this partnership, KIJA ensures that Kenyans coming to work in Japan via the LaMP project are not only prepared for their new roles but are also equipped to integrate, adapt, and thrive in Japanese society.
This initiative is part of KIJA’s ongoing commitment to support the Kenyan diaspora in Japan, helping members navigate challenges, build community, and succeed in their personal and professional endeavors.
